Abstract

Caulerpa taxifolia var. distichophylla (Sonder) Verlaque, Huisman & Procacini is an alien marine green macroalga in the Mediterranean Sea where it was recorded for the first time from the Iskenderun Gulf (Türkiye). To date, this taxon, expanding its known distribution to Greece, Italy, Cyprus, Malta, Lebanon, Libya and Tunisia. In the present study, C. taxifolia var. distichophylla is reported for the first time from Paşalimanı Island (Erdek, Balıkesir, Türkiye) in the Marmara Sea.
