Abstract

This study documents the presence and description of the white trevally, Pseudocaranx dentex, in the coastal waters of the Istanbul Strait (Bosphorus), Türkiye. Two specimens were caught by fishers who were using a stationary uncovered pound net in “Beykoz Dalyanı” in the coastal waters of the Istanbul Strait on 20 September 2023. The standard lengths of two specimens were measured (355 mm and 377 mm) and diagnostic characteristics were determined. The distribution area expanded from south to north within the Mediterranean and Black Seas system, which is also an indicator of warming of marine environment.
